French antique tray featuring Louis XVI, the last King of France, surrounded by 8 court ladies.

Painted and gilt in the center with a portrait roundel of Louis XVI surrounded by smaller portraits of identified court ladies, each joined by a shield enclosing a fleur-de-lis and surmounted by scrolled acanthus and flowerhead terminals, all reserved on a blue ground, in blue enamel.

Beautiful antique piece. Fairly extensive restoration was required, to put all pieces together, re-create missing parts, color matching, painting, glazing. etc.
